החברה הינה מיזוג בין חברת MSQ הישראלית לבין החברה האמריקאית אוריון לייזרס (Orion Lasers). MSQ הוקמה בשנת 1999 על ידי ד"ר זיו קרני - מחלוצי תעשיית הלייזרים בישראל, יואב אבני, נדב באייר ויבגני קנדריסקי- ארבעה יזמים יוצאי חברת לומניס מיוקנעם.
בשנים הראשונות הוקם ונוהל המפעל תוך דבקות בצמצום ההוצאות ללא גיוס כספים מגורמי חוץ, השקעה בפיתוח טכנולוגי וגיבוש הכוון העסקי. תוך שנה מיום הקמת החברה עברה החברה להיות רווחית. השוק האסתטי גדל מאד בעולם והביקוש לקו מוצרי הלייזר מתרחב משנה לשנה.
לפני כשנתיים הרחיבה החברה את ההפצה בארה"ב וכיום יש לה מפיצים בכל העולם.
חברת אלמה לייזרס מפתחת, מייצרת ומשווקת מגוון של מוצרים בתחום הרפואה האסתטית ורפואת העור.
הטכנולוגיה של החברה מיועדת לטיפול במגוון אנומליות בעור (אקנה דלקתית, פסוריאזיס, יבלות וכלי דם מרובים בעור), הסרת שיער, טיפול בפיגמנטציה ועוד . מוצרי החברה מאפשרים למומחי עור להציע שירותים חדשים ומשופרים למגוון טיפולים, המבוססים על מערכות לייזר, אור וגלי רדיו.
פעילותה העניפה זיכתה אותה בתעודות הוקרה "יבואן מצטיין" בשנת 2005
אלמה לייזרס בחרה להתמקם בפארק העסקים והתעשייה קיסריה, המספק איכות חיים, נוחות ונגישות גבוהה. יותר מ-50% מעובדי החברה בארץ הם עולים חדשים מחבר העמים בעלי תואר בהנדסה, חלקם מצטיינים בתחומם.
במרץ 2006 רכשה קרן ההשקעות הבינלאומית TA 65% מחברת אלמה לייזרס תמורת סכום של 90 מיליון דולר.
כיום ממשיכה אלמה לייזרס בפיתוח טכנולוגי, מבססת את פעילותה בארה"ב ופותחת סניף בשיקאגו.

Alma Lasers, located in Ofek 2 at the Caesarea Industrial Park, specializes in the manufacture of laser and light-based devices for aesthetic medical applications.
The company was formed as the result of a merger between MSQ Ltd. from Israel and Orian Lasers Ltd. from the U.S. MSQ was founded in 1999 by Dr. Ziv Karni - one of the leading pioneers of the Israeli laser industry, Yoav Avni, Nadav Bayer, and Yevgeni Kandriski - four entrepreneurs formerly of Lumenis Ltd., based in Yokneam.
Emphasis was on investment in technological development and shaping of its commercial orientation. In one year the firm began turning profits. The global aesthetic market is constantly growing and the demand for laser products continues to expand yearly.
Approximately two years ago the firm expanded its distribution network in the U.S. and today it has distributors worldwide.
Alma Lasers develops, manufactures, and markets a variety of products in the field of aesthetic medical procedures and dermatological care. The firm's technology is intended to treat a variety of skin anomalies (acne vulgaris , psoriasis, warts, and leg veins), as well as facilitating hair removal, pigmentation treatment, etc. The firm's products enable dermatologists to offer new and improved services and a variety of treatments, based on laser, light-based, and radio frequency systems.
For its extensive activities, Alma Lasers was awarded the title of "excellent importer"
for the year 2005.
Alma Lasers chose to establish its corporate offices at the Caesarea Industrial Park, which provides a high level of quality services, comfort, and accessibility. Over 50% of Israeli employees are new immigrants from the Commonwealth of Independent States with degrees in engineering, some of them from the top of their field.
In March 2006 TA Associates, a private equity firm, purchased 65% of Alma Lasers for the sum of $90 million.
Today Alma Lasers is engaged in furthering its technological developments, establishing its activities in the U.S., and opening a branch in Chicago.
